One can relax by the pool or participate to horse riding and cycling excursions to discover castles and palaces of the Renaissance left by the Farnese family, natural parks, medieval boroughs and Etruscan necropolis lost in the countryside of a region situated well away from the pulse of mass tourism. Beautiful towns and villages like Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio, Pienza, Capalbio, Viterbo, Todi, Tarquinia, the lake of Bolsena or Montepulciano are reachable within an hour drive. With its lovely fishermen villages, volcanic sandy beaches, uninhabited island of "Bisentina", the lake of Bolsena is a must-see destination.
You will appreciate the farmhouse for the quiet and peaceful setting in the countryside, the family and cozy atmosphere, the bucolic character and its horses grazing in the surrounding fields. Its enviable position, halfway between Rome and Siena, makes it the ideal place to have good time, whether you are in couple, family or between friends. Horse-riding lessons with qualified staff and excursions off the beaten tracks by horse or bicycle are available and must be booked in advance. Horses are of various breeds so as to satisfy all level of horse riders.
The farmstead is located below the castle; a true romantic place covered by a beautiful creeper vine with flowered gardens and a large terrace overlooking the swimming pool. The building has been entirely renovated in respect of the original structure and houses today the restaurant and play room with billiard and ping pong table, as well as spacious double rooms and apartments on the first floor. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Donatella, the chef, cooks daily for guests delicious Italian dishes. The menu is based on a traditional and authentic food.
THE ROOMS:
14 double rooms nicely decorated in a rustic style equipped with bathroom, wifi connection and hairdryer. 8 apartments accommodating 2 to 8 persons depending on their size and arrangement of which 2 interconnected cottages, recently built, offering more privacy and located 50 meters away from the main building and featuring a private swimming pool and garden. Most of apartments have ensuite bathroom fully equipped kitchen, oven, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, TV, heating and Wi-Fi connection. Buffet breakfast is served in the castle. For self-catering stays, the breakfast can be taken as a supplement. On request, the owners, can organize guided tours of the castle.
