Located in the old town of Norcia, birthplace of St Benedict, the 16th century palazzo, a former private residence, is nowadays one of the world's finest hotels.
Despite the strong 2016 earthquake that put to strain the whole area, the Bianconi family, hoteliers since many generations, continue their mission as ambassadors of Norcia, whose gastronomic and natural heritage is famous worldwide.
Seven years of meticulous renovation has been needed to give back to Palazzo Seneca its former splendour. The owners, Vincenzo and Federico Bianconi, has chosen to co-operate exclusively with local craftsmen and use for the decoration natural materials like hardwood and soft leather to complement the original terracotta floors, the wood panelling, beams and cross-vaulted ceilings.
The result is a stylish and elegant decoration providing a sense of well-being and combining perfectly beautiful antics with modern design. The library offers a collection of antique books. You will appreciate the great hospitality of the family Bianconi, the professionalism and discretion of the staff and their ability to share the passion they have for their region. The distinct atmosphere, the restful living-room with its carved fireplace, the elegant and stylish decoration and the Michelin-starred restaurant along with an exceptional location in the national Park of Mounts Sibillini make this luxury hotel a perfect place to stay in Umbria.
A continental breakfast is served in the delightful dining room whose bay-windows overlook the hilly Umbrian countryside and the lovely garden where guests can enjoy breakfast and have dinner in season. The hearty buffet breakfast consists in homemade pastries, tarts and cakes, local honey, various types of bread, freshly squeezed fruit juice, ricotta, cold cuts from Norcia… All products are carefully selected by the owners for their quality and authenticity.
Norcia, very famous all over Italy for the century-old cured meat tradition, is also renown for the black truffle available all year round, the unspoiled nature and the multicolour blooming in the plain of Castelluccio. We strongly advise you to take part in the activities and excursions in order to discover the know-how of passioned craftsmen, wonderful landscapes, prestigious wines, ancient traditions and an authentic gastronomy. Norcia is ideally located in Umbria to visits middle age towns such as Bevagna, Montefalco, Spoleto, Cascia (where Saint Rita was born), the national parks and the lovely city of Ascoli Piceno in the Marche.

THE ROOMS:
24 rooms luxuriously decorated with a mix of craftsmen and antics furniture; wooden carved or cast-iron beds and leather or antique wood lined desks. The marble bathrooms are spacious and modern. Every room offers different spaces; some of them have a balcony, others a dressing room. All rooms are equipped with bathroom (shower or bathtub), TV, Wi-Fi connection, air conditioning/heating, coffee machine or tea maker, free minibar and hair dryer.
The Wellness centre, located in the Palazzo cellars, use natural products and essential oils for the treatments and massages. Free access to the sauna, Turkish bath and jacuzzi is granted to the guests of the hotel.
